get to know the general story first
Eyeshield 21 is a manga about American Football. The story revolves around the day and life of none other than Kobayakawa Sena, who was nothing but a loser kid, while being bullied and doing other peoples chores. The only thing he was good at was running, which is perfect for the American football sport. After being chased down the road by bullies on the first day of school, his running talent gets discovered by none other than Hiruma Youchi (the Quarterback and the Team Captian of the Deimon Devil Bats), who then later forces Sena to join the football team. At first he was reluctant about it, but throughout the series he grows to love the sport as well as being part of the team. The series follows Sena, his team the Deimon Devil Bats and other companions undergo growth and changes both as Football players and as characters, while experiencing a coming-of-age journey as Sena slowly starts growing from being a loser into a legend in the American Football industry.
