Takenouchi Sora

Takenouchi Sora "Sora Takenouchi" is another of the DigiDestined children. She is very responsible and reliable girl, and acts like the mother-figure, taking care of the other kids. She is also a tomboy and plays soccer, something that both she and her closest childhood friend, Taichi, have in common. Her father works as a professor at the Kyoto University, and she lives with her mother, whom is a famous flower arranger. In the beginning, Sora has problems with her mother, because she is holding her back from playing soccer. However, this gets resolved when Biyomon, Sora's Digimon partner, made Sora and her mother make up.

In the second season, Digimon Adventure 02, Sora looses some of her tomboyishness characteristic, and no longer plays soccer. She begins learning the art of flower arranging from her mother. She is also in the Tennis club, yet she still joins the other DigiDestined whenever she can. There are also signs within this season which show Sora developing feelings for Matt, such as when she walks backstage to give him some homemade cookies during the Christmas special.

In the year 2027, Sora is married to Matt and she becomes a fashion designer. She also has two kids: a daughter and a son, and both of them have Yokomon and Tsunomon as their Digimon partners.

Opinion

I'm going to be really honest, but I'm going to also try not to flame Sora. Don't get me wrong, I used to love the girl so much. It was because of her tomboyish characteristic and charisma that I began loving and adoring her, because I knew she wasn't like all of the other typical girls. She really stood out to me. I even admired her at one point. However, my perspective towards Sora slightly changed, and I can even go as far as to say I don't like her as much as I used to in 01. She completely lost that tomboyish and tough personality that I loved. I was shocked to hear that she even took a job as a Fashion designer. I mean, I imagined that she would have a job as a coach, some sort of athlete or at least as a tennis player... but a fashion designer? *blinks* I'm sorry, but her job was very unrealistic to me. Her "husband's" job seemed unrealistic to me too. Even though I am aware of the fact that both she and Yamato had similar problems with their parents and also when Sora asked Yamato out, and the couple would have even worked out better for me IF - (and this is a very big if) - their relationship could have been developed better. However, they did not, and because of that, I found the relationship between her and Yamato very short, very rushed, very "last-minute", and also very unrealistic. Overall, I just wasn't convinced at all.

On the subject of Sora, I can safely say that I do not hate her (If I did, why would I still pair her up with Tai? X3). I barely hate any girl characters or bishoujos, as I love and adore all of them. She is still an awesome character, but she just isn't my favorite female character anymore.
